02/03/24 First Sat Cars & Coffee

We had a super FSCC event on February 3.  Despite chilly temperatures ranging from mid 30’s to upper 50’s, there were over 50 very nice vehicles presented.  I think the sun being out had a lot to contribute.  However, with four very yellow vehicles we needed sunglasses just from the glare.  One of the most noticeable was a yellow Mercedes G-Wagon Square!  If you’ve never seen a G-Wagon Square it looks like a Hummer on steroids!  The photos don’t do it justice.  We also had two rare hard top convertibles.  One was a 1957 Ford Skyliner and the other was a 2011 BMW Z4 sdrive 35is.  In addition to those vehicles other makes included: Abarth, Aston Martin, Austin Healey, Bentley, Corvette, Ferrari, Mercedes, Miata, Mustang, Jaguar, the largest attendee was Porsche with at least 15.  There were also classic trucks and cars.  You can view these and other cars on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/264105264537999/.

The cars were fun, but we also had neat networking between both car clubs and car owners.  Sean Fear, the Corvette club president and also the Chair of the Keeneland Concours Car Acquisition Committee found three G-Wagons for judging at this year’s concours.  Dale Torok, president of the Sterling British Motoring Society, attended with several of the SBMS members.  Four members of the PCA Bluegrass Region attended with their members.  The event was a great way for folks to share the latest in current auto events.

Thanks to our sponsors, Wildcat Moving and the Stockyards/Marketplace, we had hot coffee and fresh donuts in a warm meeting room!  Our next two FSCC events will be March 2 and April 6.  Come on out and play in the ‘Yard!
