02/24/24 – Zone 13 Presidents Meeting

On the 24th of February, the Zone Presidents meeting saw new attendance. Isringhausen Porsche Dealership in Springfield. IL hosted this meeting with the Bluegrass Region having the only returning President, but everyone was enthusiastic about their upcoming position. Mark Roethemeier our Zone rep lead the review and discussion while the former PCA President, Tom Gorsuch gave us both a historical perspective and high-level view of what are the driving forces at the National level. I was thankful to be a part of such a good group of people and hear how the national club and our region are thriving. One not so small point of consideration is our membership continues to grow annually at a 5-7% rate. The Bluegrass Region is in line with National figures. The Porsche club is the largest auto club, twice the size of the BMW club and four times the size of the Mercedes club. I know it is not a competition, but PCA is the premier auto club nationally. Rest assured that we in the Bluegrass Region have a great reputation as a smaller but strong region. I wish I could say that is because I am President, of course. But there is no way I could pound my chest and say that it is anything I did. Fact is, it is all because of a 20-year history of dedication of people like Ken Hold and Phil Doty that still work tirelessly for the Bluegrass Region, Keeneland Concours and provide a solid base within the Board of Directors. That said, beginning the second year of my term I personally want to recognize the efforts (Passion) of all our Board members and Committee Chairs. Please consider joining a committee or volunteering for an event and learning about an aspect of the club. We can all be part of building our wonderful organization.
