07/01/23 First Sat Cars & Coffee

Early morning storms and ominous clouds succeeded in having most folks miss our FSCC Gathering on July 1.  However, those of us who will travel for free coffee and donuts braved the bad weather and attended.  There were a surprising 30 vehicles at the event.  Yes! We did get wet, not only once but at least two times.  Not surprisingly, most of the vehicles there were of higher stance and securely water proof.  There were a few exceptions.  I will not mention that the Corvette Club President (Shawn Fear) arrived in his beautiful green 1966 Corvette Roadster with the top down.  He did however depart quickly with the top up and the windows closed!  Also attending were the Sterling British President (Dale Torok) and the Model A Club President (Jack Kubik).  FSCC is a great way to meet members of most of our local car clubs.

Most of the early arrivals left during the first round of rain (after coffee and donuts!)  However, several of the Model A club members soon arrived in their mechanical marvels, some even without side curtains.  Several folks stayed for lunch at the Barn Door Grill.  Damp or dry all of us had a fun time at the event!  You can check out these and other very fine vehicles by seeing the photos on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/264105264537999/.  Our August gathering will be held at Big Ass Fans on August 5 same time 9-11am.  The BAF address is 2348 Innovation Dr., Lexington, KY 40511.  BAF is the only location we hold annually beyond the Stockyards.
