03/29/25 – Drive to Porsche of the Village

We kicked off the 2025 driving season on a rare warm sunny day in March!  A great day to visit one our regions sponsors, Porsche of the Village.

Twenty-seven Bluegrass Region members in sixteen Porsches met at the Cabela’s parking lot at 9:00 am on Saturday March 29th signed the roster and Insurance waiver, then after a safety meeting we lined up and headed out.

Because of the number of cars, we split into two groups, group one was led by Larry Dukes and Larry McVey was the sweep, David Patrick led group two with Rich Barsalona as sweep.  We took a route that David had used last year for a tech session to the dealership and it was great.  We drove a few miles on Winchester road, the headed west on KY-1973 to US-27/US-68/Paris Pike.  We deove through Paris, then it was open country all the way to the Ohio River, where we crossed over the new William H. Harsha bridge.  After a short rest stop, we continued west on US-52 W/Ohio River Scenic Byway.  We drove parallel to the river al the way to Cincinnati.  David’s group took a short-cut after we got close so they would beat us to the Dealership!

I had coordinated our visit to the dealership with Amanda Crawford, who had an area set up for us to have box lunches provided by the dealership.  We had a tour of the facility and several folks took advantage of the opportunity to configure their dream Porsche.

I believe everyone who participated had a good time and we look forward to our next Driving Tour, tentatively, the last weekend in April.  Look for information on our webpage, Facebook page and via news Emails.
