First Saturday Cars & Coffee wrapped up the 2024 year with the December 7 gathering at their regular location, the Blue Grass Stockyards Regional Marketplace located at 4561 Iron Works Pike, Lexington, KY. It was a small gathering with 15 vehicles attending. Porsche and Chevrolet with three vehicles each were the largest marques! Corvette with two vehicles was second. Both Corvettes were cool with a 50th Edition and an outstanding Roadster! Two of the Chevy’s had 454 engines that were dressed out. And, a black Nomad that was a super presentation. It was good to see the very rare gold Cougar again. Other makes included Audi, Dodge, Ford, and Mustang. With temperatures below 40 degrees the folks running high performance tires kept their rides at home. Those hardy “donut eating, coffee drinking” folks who attended the event took advantage of the heated gathering room to talk “table trash”! We had a good time. As usual you can check out the vehicles on our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/264105264537999/media/albums.
Reminder that while this time of year the weather can cause many of us to not get out to sport our favorite rides, there is quite a bit of planning going on for automotive events in 2025. At our December 7 FSCC there were several discussions regarding possible car shows and charity events that may be of interest to our members. If you have an interest in possibly participating in an automotive event, let me know at the January 4 gathering or contact me by email at sl…@gmail.com.
Also, we are looking for a couple of FSCC sponsors for 2025. Being a sponsor is a neat way to let a great community of gearheads know that a business is supportive of all us car folks! In addition, as you know FSCC is very receptive to businesses that want to pitch a tent to display their products at our FSCC events. If you can recommend a business that may be interested in sponsoring or displaying at an event let me know by email at sl…@gmail.com.
Future monthly FSCC gatherings will be February 1 and March 1 at the Stockyards/Marketplace.
You are welcome to come on out and play in the “Yard.” It doesn’t matter what you drive, you just gotta love cars!
